The Forestal

So this picture was inspired by two things:

Firstly, The Last Dark, being the last book of the Last Chronicles of Thomas Covenant.  Don't get me wrong, Forestals in that book look nothing like this one, and in fact I may paint one sometime in the future, but the idea of a superpowerful forest guardian remains pretty cool.

Second, the movie Epic. Samurai fairy people that protect, technically speaking, a Forestal. Was a lot of fun to watch and had some amazingly good environmental designs and action scenes. 

So, I guess this picture is what would happen if Ronin from epic became the forestal of Garrotting Deep.
